In Blogging Basics Part 4 - Blog Promotion, I mentioned that Blog Commenting is a great form of blog promotion and link building. Here are some tips on Blog Commenting.

You should always search for blogs in your niche to post your comments on. Make sure to read the post that you are commenting on and provide a relevant comment. Do not spam other blogs. 

One of the best ways to get recognized and to build links faster is to find blogs that have either a recent comments section or a top commentators section. If you get listed in either section, your link will show up on all pages of that blog.

If you are choosing to stay in the top commentators sections, you have to become a regular commenter on these blogs. Keep a list of all the blogs that you have found that have a top commentators section that you have posted on and make sure to visit those blogs on a regular basis.

What are the benefits of doing this? Your blog gets more exposure and more backlinks. This will get your blog indexed faster and will help you get more search engine traffic. This will also help you in getter a higher Google Pagerank. But the most beneficial part is that you gain knowledge by reading all of the different blogs. You can learn so much by reading other blogs. It is also a great way to help you with topic ideas for your blog. I have found this to be a great learning experience.
