1. Submit your blog to Google.
Some people may tell you that this is no longer necessary but I still think it’s worth the effort. It takes less then a minute to submit you blog to the Google Index. Click here to do it.
2. Set up the Permalink structure.
What you want is an SEO friendly url. The current permalink structure is set up as “www.yourdomain.com/?p=12″. This gives no indication of what your url is about. What you want to see is “www.yourdomain.com/post-title”. You can accomplish this by going to Settings > Permalinks, scroll down and check off Custom Structure, in the box enter in /%postname%/ and then hit save.
3. Create a sitemap.
A sitemap will tell search engines where you want them to go. A sitemap is useful for faster and better indexing. In Part 2, one of the recommended plugins was Google Sitemap Generator. You should install it now if you haven’t already done so.
4. Update your Ping list.
A ping list is a list of services that ping search or directory engines every time you publish a new post on your blog in order to get the search engines to visit your site more often. Below are some of the more popular ping services.

You can add these by going to Settings > Writing and then scrolling to the bottom and pasting these in the Update Services box. For a more complete list, check out the List of Ping Services.
