Twitter is a social networking/micro-blogging service that allows you to send and receive other people’s updates, also known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts with a maximum of 140 characters in length. Updates are displayed on the sender’s profile page and delivered to people who have signed up to receive them, also known as followers.
You can restrict delivery of your messages to those in your circle of friends (delivery to everyone being the default). You can send and receive updates via the main Twitter website, SMS, RSS (receive only), or through applications such as Tweetie, Twitterrific, Twitterfon, and TweetDeck. The service is free to use but using SMS may incur phone services provider fees.
I follow a number of people and have gotten some great info from them. The information that I have received ranges from advice in my niche to coupons and discounts to contests. Also, my followers automatically receive an update when there is a new post on my blog. This is also a great way to build relationships and meet new people within your niche. If you haven’t signed up for Twitter yet, I highly suggest you do. Once you do, you can follow me at http://twitter.com/moneyeverywhere.
